Practitioners Diploma in Reflexology

(Level 3)

This is a 38-week intensive course, which is written in-line with the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Reflexology. Successful completion of this course allows you to practice as a Reflexologist, and gain membership with the Federation of Holistic Therapists. The course is fully accredited with the Federation of Holistic Therapists, who are the largest professional body for complementary, beauty and sports therapy.

Who is this course for?

Anyone who wishes to pursue a career in Reflexology. You may already be a practising complementary therapist and want to add Reflexology to your existing skillset, or maybe you want a change of career into the fascinating and rewarding profession of complementary and alternative therapy.

How often do I need to attend and when does the course start?

The course is run on a Thursday, 10am till 4.30pm, for 38 weeks (not including the school holiday’s) Course commences on Thursday 9th January 2025 and finishes December 4th, 2025. Students are expected to study in addition to classroom attendance. You should aim for approximately 5 hours per week for assignment work, reading and treatment practice.

What are the costs involved?

The fee for this course is £2,695 or £2,595 if paying in full. A non-refundable deposit of £445 (which is taken off the total course fee) is required to secure your place on the course and then 10 monthly instalments of £225.

There will be 2 mandatory textbooks to purchase (second hand from bookshops or online), a tunic top and insurance to practice on clients, details of which will be given to you at the interview.

What will I learn?

The course has four modules.

Module 1 concentrates on the legislation, and the health and safety associated with providing reflexology. This module also incorporates business practice, where you will learn how to set up your own business and market it. There is a written assignment to complete for this module.

Module 2 focuses on the anatomy, physiology and pathology related to reflexology. You will learn the 12 systems of the body and the associated illnesses and conditions of each system. There are multiple choice papers to complete for this module, but no external exam.

Module 3 concentrates on the theory and practice of reflexology. You will learn how to provide reflexology and the theory behind it. This unit has a written assignment and two practical assessments, along with a require of 100 treatments of reflexology. These are known as case studies. Your case studies can be completed within the practical sessions and at home on family and friends.

Module 4 is centred around your personal and professional development as a reflexologist. You will learn about professional development, reflective practice and how to plan for your professional development as a reflexologist. There is a written assignment for this module.

Notable points to consider

Students will not gain certification if the coursework and case study treatments are not completed or, their attendance is below 85%, or any fees are outstanding by the end of the course. Once you have started the course, any money already paid will not be refunded, and you will be liable for the total course fees, even if you have withdrawn. This is standard practice now in most academies and colleges. Once you have enrolled on the course, students have up to 7 days before the course commences to withdraw, should you change your mind, but please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
