The hands are placed over specific areas of the body to encourage the energy to balance within the body to promote relaxation and wellbeing.

Reflexology
This is a gentle specialised massage working on the reflex points in the feet. It is believed that the organs and structures of the body are mapped out in the feet.
By working on the reflex points of the body in the feet, it is thought that stress and tension can be relieved from the body and restore harmony back to the body.
Reflexology is effective in relieving many symptoms of various illnesses and disorders within the body such as, multiple sclerosis, heart conditions, symptoms relating to cancer, irritable bowel syndrome and many other ailments.
Within Holistic Counselling Therapy, the therapist will be able to detect where trauma is being held in the body and where the body is out of balance.

How complementary therapies work to control symptoms and pain
Stress and illness can cause a reduction in the blood flow to the organs and the body systems causing a dysfunction or weakness within these organs and systems.
Pain can be increased due to illness or stress. Both stress and pain causes adrenaline (a chemical) to be released into the body. Adrenaline helps the body to deal with the negative effects of stress on the body as well as causing a heightened emotional state which will temporarily mask pain. A continuous raised level of adrenaline will enhance stress and pain, causing a vicious circle to occur. By allowing the body to relax our organs and systems are able to function more efficiently, which will initiate our bodies own healing mechanisms, thereby reducing levels of pain and stress.
It is recommended that a course of treatments are needed for the work to be of benefit.
All treatments are: £50 for 1 hour or £25 for 30 minutes.
